e4.ZERO HELPS YOU CALCULATE, MONITOR AND REDUCE YOUR CARBON EMISSIONS

CARBON NEUTRALITY

In simple terms, Carbon Neutrality is the balance between emitting carbon and absorbing carbon emissions from carbon sinks.

e4.ZERO integrates with your existing hardware, collecting data in real-time to provide you with an overview of your energy usage. Once you have worked out the total carbon footprint, e4.ZERO will enable you to calculate how much your business needs to counteract, in order to achieve Carbon Neutrality. Then, you’ll be able to reduce carbon emissions by analysing the worst carbon indicators – or where your business is emitting the most carbon. When that has been established, you can work to offset what is left and achieve Carbon Neutrality.

4 STEPS TO BECOME CARBON NEUTRAL

MEASURE

Understand the carbon footprint of the product or organisation using one of the key methodologies. For organisations, the footprint standard is ISO14064-1 or GHG Corporate Protocol, and for products and services, a PAS 2050 life-cycle assessment.

REDUCE

Reduce the emissions associated with the organisation or product/service, and develop a carbon management plan that contains a public commitment to Carbon Neutrality, outlining these key aspects: a time scale, specific targets for reductions, the planned means of achieving reductions and how residual emissions will be offset.

OFFSET

Ensure carbon emissions at the end of a reduction period are offset by high-quality, certified carbon credits, in line with PAS 2060.

DOCUMENT & VALIDATE

Document & verify your Carbon Neutrality through a standard-compliant declaration of achievement known as Qualifying Explanatory Statements that means you are climate neutral certified.

HOW e4.ZERO SUPPORTS CARBON NEUTRALITY PLANS AT EACH STAGE

Assess

ISO 14064 , PAS 2050
& ISO 14067

The first stage of a Carbon Neutrality project focuses on a principled approach of calculating your scoped carbon emissions.

Reduce &
Manage

ISO 14001, ISO 50001
& PAS 2060

Once a starting point is identified and a carbon inventory developed, strategies to reduce and eliminate carbon should be implemented.

Offset

PAS 2060

The residual carbon emissions need to be offset via a certified scheme.

Declare

PAS 2060

This stage requires you to demonstrate and report Carbon Neutrality.

Assurance

ISO 14064, 14065
& 14066

Verify and validate through auditing principles the declaration of Carbon Neutrality.

Net Zero –
Carbon
Removal

Assess carbon offsetting quantities and develop direct strategies to remove carbon from atmosphere.
